Project

Title Looking at little things in a big way
Insects lice, ticks, mites, fruitflies
Description I am a scientist-parent who is starting an afterschool science club for 4th and 5th graders. We are not integrating Bugscope with a class, but instead we are hoping to generate enthusiasm for science. We will have another session on satellite remote sensing and hope to compare and contrast these images and imaging techniques. Do you have any of these specimens (they would be hard to collect at this time of year)--lice, ticks, orabatid mites, astigmatid mite, earwigs with mites, leafhoppers with brochosomes, flea, weevil mouthparts, scales on butterfly, morpho butterfly (structural color), southern pine beetle, scolex of tapeworm, drosophila (esp one with deformity), even integrated circuit, etc.
