Project

Title Compare and Contrast the structure and function of insect and arachnid bodies relative to their habitat and niche.
Insects Spiders, ticks, beetles, moths, butterflies, mantis, antlion
Description I use Bugscope to practice scientific inquiry with the students and to teach about habitats, adaptations and niches by comparing arthropods and thinking about the function of their structures and how they help the animal to survive. Students complete an "experiment" based on the pictures we capture using the microscope. Students collect insects that will help them answer a question of their choosing about arthropods. These concepts are integrated into an Ecology unit.
