Insects | a variety of insects - if you have good specimens of butterflies, we would like to see those |
Description | We have been studying insects in our first grade classroom for the past two weeks. We have read several books and done a few insect art projects. We have several insect centers set up in our classroom. We went to Anita Purves Nature Center to examine insects in the prairie and the woods. We also went to Mrs. B's farm and saw over 100 Monarchs in her trees. We are in the process of watching 5 Painted Lady butterflies hatch. I hope to do a butterfly quilt with the students once our butterflies have hatched. I would like for the students to be able to examine butterflies using the resources provided by Bugscope. Then we would draw our butterflies for our butterfly quilt. It will be interesting to see how their art is affected once they have viewed the butterflies on your Bugscope. *I had planned on having a parent work with 2-3 students at a time in our classroom on the computer. Is this a project that could be used in a computer lab situation? |
Where did you hear about Bugscope? | Mrs. Heil, one of our parents, encouraged us to give it a try. |
