Project

Title Bugscope at Rosa Parks
Insects flies, cockroaches, millipedes
Description The main objective of this presentation is to give urban minority students hands-on exposure to an advanced scientific instrument, which they normally would not have access to. Students will be given the opportunity to manipulate the scanning electron microscope to view the external anatomical structures of different bugs and insects. Many of my students seem bored and disinterested. I hope this project would light a fire in them and spark some interest in science and technology. In so doing, I may inspire some of them to choose a career in science and technology. I would like to do this project in my library media center with colleagues looking along. I have already constructed a custom web-page specifically for this project which can be seen by anyone at anytime,(http://www.geocities.com/julian622002/implementation.html).
