Project

Title Stream MacroInvertebrates and Pooting Samples
Insects A few stream and pooting samples - moths, beetles, toxic caterpillar, and aquatic nymphs
Description I would like students to see the detailed differences between mayflies, stoneflies and caddisflies, some key indicator species within our stream macroinvertebrate study, so they can develop skills to better identify these indicators of stream water quality in their samples when viewed under our dissecting microscopes. We also held a pooting festival, where students collected, by pooting, bugs for one hour in two locations and will compare the diversity of bugs at the sites using a Simpson's Diversity Index.
