Bugscope Teamwe did not see the spider, I am sorry, so we did not put it on today's sample stub
- Studentwhat is the most endangered insect?
Bugscope TeamWe are not really sure. Scientists actually know very little about all the insects in the world. It is entirely possible that there are some insect species that have become extinct without anyone ever knowing that they existed. This is particularly true in the tropical rainforests.
- Studentohhhhhhhhh thanks

- StudentWhy are they called 'Japanese' beetles?-Please answer!!!
- Studentsweet tonge
- Studenthow do flies know when to move when you try to swat it?
Bugscope TeamThey have a couple features that help them out. One is their amazing sight from their compound eyes you see on either side of their head. They have almost a 360 degree view of what is around them. They also can see movement faster, so everything around them appears to be in slow motion! Another thing is these compound eyes often have stiff, short setae (basically bug hairs) that can sense wind movement.
- Bugscope Teamannie has digested quite a few different insects like different larvae, and if you payed alex, he would eat anything
- StudentThat is so weired looking have u ever dissected one of these?

- Studentit really needs to shave really badly (really badly)
- Studentcan cockroaches live without a head and for how lond
Bugscope TeamYes, they can live for a few days. Eventually they starve or dry out.
- StudentWhat are the things sticking out of its mouth - Annie
Bugscope TeamThere are many different kinds of setae that help the fly to taste its food.
- Studentdo you like bugs
- StudentCate:What is that
- StudentAnnie you actualy ate an insect?
Bugscope Teamyes. Several. On purpose.

Bugscope TeamBecause lots of people all over the world regularly consume insects as part of their diet. I thought I would give it a try.
- Studentthanks scott!
- Studentwhat do tou mean by slashing rather than sponging mouthparts
Bugscope Teamthe mouthparts of a housefly are sharp, and they cut your skin with them; the mouthparts of a housefly are spongy and allow them to soak up their food in liquid form
- Studenthi derick
- Studentwat r we lookin at
- StudentYou should be on fear factor!
- Teachermary would like the microscope please
- Student has never eaten a bug (im sorry to say)

- StudentCan you feel it if a housefly slashes your skin.
Bugscope TeamIf it has more molting cycles left it can regenerate new parts like legs, spiders can do this too
- StudentDid you eat the tail of the scorpion-annie
- Studentdo flies have big eyes
- Studentannie-wouldn't the scorpion sting your tongue?
- Studentdo you like spiders or worms more
- StudentAnnie have u tried a beetel?

- StudentAre any of the bugs venomous?
Bugscope TeamThere are actually very few insects other than wasps, bees, and ants that can sting or that are really venomous. Some insects have hairs that can cause allergic reactions. But, most insects would only be poisonous if you ate lots of them.
- Studenthello
- Studentdo the hairs help sense danger?
Bugscope Teamthe hairs (setae) help the insect sense its surroundings; they can sense vibration, heat and cold, chemical smells, and touch, for example

- StudentHow did the rat fleas start the black plauge (black death)??
Bugscope TeamThe bacterial that causes the plague is naturally present at low levels in rodent populations. As people and rodent populations increased in the 1400 and 1500s, so did the likelihood that rats with the plague and humans would be living in the same place. Fleas bit rats with the plague, then they bit humans, transmitting the disease.
