Bugscope TeamThey have small sucking mouthparts, like all "true" bugs. They are opisthognathous (uhhh, I think that is how you spell that--projecting backwards)

Bugscope TeamLittle mammals and foxes and coyotes love to eat insects! Insects are very very important foods for birds and lots of mammals. Racoons and foxes and skunks and opossums and coyotes will eat pretty much anything.

Bugscope TeamSome people have allergic reactions to the scales of some moths and butterflies. There is a moth in Mexico that I have developed a bad allergy to and every time I contact the scales, I get a really bad rash....If you inhale a whole bunch of butterfly scales you can get a pretty bad cough.
