Title Monarch Butterflies
Insects monarch butterflies or fresh water insects
Description I have two projects that I work on. Each summer I raise and tag monarch butterflies, in my home, and then release them for Monarch Watch, at the University of Kansas. Hopefully, my students will be able to see a few of them hatch from their chrysalises, dry their wings and fly away after we have tagged them. The other project that I work on is with the University of Rochester and is called My Environment, My Health, My Choices. My fifth graders walk over to nearby Densmore Creek, collect water and then complete some studies. In addition to studying the scientific aspect, we study the history of our area. Our final goal is to present a power point presentation that covers some aspect of the work that we have done. The majority of my students are most concerned with
