Project

Title Teaching Teachers to Investigate Bugscope
Insects walking sticks, pill bugs, etc.
Description In this course, I would like to introduce preservice K-8 teachers to the BugScope website as a teaching tool. As of today, the course has a cohort of 11 students enrolled. They are graduate students that have about one year of schooling left before they enter the workforce as teachers, hopefully in the Washington area. This cohort is taking another science methods course concurrently so there is a chance that the samples we would want to look at are samples from their class. It is my intention to introduce this technology to all of the preservice science teachers at WSU, moving forward.

about Bugscope?
As a recent graduate of UIUC, I attended the Open House at Beckman and talked to the scientists involved with the project.
