Title Science Discovery Day
Insects Local Specimens and whatever you have that's interesting
Description Our elementary school holds an annual science day, called "Science Discovery Day." During this day the entire school, ( K-5 ), participates in science activities, labs, experiements, demonstrations and inquiries. All 38 teachers pick a lesson that interests them and then the students pick what they would like to participate in. It is a great way to motivate kids in science and promote school P.R. The Bugscope program would be the perfect addition to this special day. We have a computer lab with 35 Mac's. Ideally we would like to hold four sessions in the lab with 35 kids each. So we'd be able to enrich a grand total of 140 kids, grades first through fifth! I think it's great that we can send you local specimens, this will really serve to engage the kids. I would like to also reasearch more and review what other classes across the country have done so that the kids are well directed during their session. We are very excited about this project!!!
