Description On Friday March 8, we are hosting a statewide conference (see http://ceee.rice.edu/meetings/mvsk12/) Several program officers from NSF, teachers and administrators, scientists, education researchers, industry representatives, and other educatioanl stakeholders are expected to attend. There is also going to be a scientist from A & M that has an electron mike that would like to develop a similar project, I believe. I would really like to do a Bugscope presentation in the 1 and 2:00 PM breakout sessions. They would be about 25 minutes each. (I'll be repeating the same presentation with 2 different groups. Description of Conference A National Science Foundation-funded conference hosted by Rice University to create a Texas-wide network of teachers and administrators, scientists, education researchers, industry representatives, and other educatioanl stakeholders focused on modeling, visualization, and interaction with complex data sets as effective tools for teaching and learning science and mathematics. The purpose of this network is to identify the issues involved in designing programs that facilitate the implementation of modeling and scientific visualization in high school mathematics and science classrooms. Thank you for your consideration.
