Project

Title To BEE or not to BEE, that is the question?
Insects Depends what our students find
Description Bugscope will enhance and enrich our seventh grade curriculum which is a life science class that focuses on the different animal and plant classifcations. Students will be catching insects, identifying them and classifying them as part of the Arthropod unit. Bugscope would allow us take this study to the next level of learning. It would introduce the students to the electron microscope and all the advanced technology that goes with it. We would be able to compare and contrast the electron microscope to the microscopes we use on a daily basis. The internet broadcast is an awesome opportunity for students to get their questions answered from the experts and it will help introduce students to some new career options and areas of study that they might not have otherwise known or cared about. Bugscope will also be a great tool to use when doing comparative anatomy among the different insect families. Most importantly, it would allow students to really see and appreciate the insect world!
