The Project

Project Title 4th Grade Plant Study Unit
Insects To Study Bees
Project Description We are a public elementary school with three 4th grade classes (2-22 students in each class) that study about plants in the spring. Part of the Plant Study Unit includes lessons on pollination and the adaptations of honey bees. I am an Instructional Technology Specialist and work with teachers in integrating Technology into their curriculum. Each class visits the Computer Lab once a week for lessons related to what they are learning at the time. We would be interested in having 3 separate sessions, one for each 4th grade class, to view one or more honey bees through the Bugscope and ask questions of your specialists about what they are seeing using the chat function from our Lab computers. We also have a control computer connected to a Promethean board for displaying the session.

Where did you hear about Bugscope? A colleague, Maddy Shapiro, ITS from Heights Elementary School in Sharon, MA. She recently completed a session with some of her 4th grade students.
