Project Title Adaptation
Insects To Study < LEFT BLANK >
Project Description Rits Kids is a Saturday English immersion-style program for Japanese elementary school kids in the Uji, Kyoto area. We study a variety of subjects, all in English. Leading up to our Bugscope session, we will study about how organisms evolve to adapt to their environments, looking at various specific examples of adaptation. What particular insect parts we are most interested in seeing during our session will depend on what insect specimens we are able to collect and prepare. After the Bugscope session we will follow up by preparing presentations (posters, slide shows, etc) and a video of what the kids did and learned to show their parents in a subsequent open class.

Where did you hear about Bugscope? I heard about Bugscope from the director of the program I teach in. Where he first heard about it, I'm not sure...
