The Project

Project Title Compare and Contrast the structure and function of insect and arachnid bodies relative to their habitat and niche.
Insects To Study Spiders, ticks, beetles, moths, butterflies, mantis, antlion
Project Description I use Bugscope to practice scientific inquiry with the students and to teach about habitats, adaptations and niches by comparing arthropods and thinking about the function of their structures and how they help the animal to survive. Students complete an "experiment" based on the pictures we capture using the microscope. Students collect insects that will help them answer a question of their choosing about arthropods. These concepts are integrated into an Ecology unit.

Where did you hear about Bugscope? I have been a long time participant (since 2005) but originally heard about you through a National science teacher association article.
