The Project

Project Title Monarch Madness
Insects To Study Monarch Butterflies and their different life stages
Project Description I participated in a fantastic Bugscope session last year that focused on the Monarch Butterfly. I would like my students to once again witness the marvel of this insect's adaptations which allow it to survive and eventually migrate South to Mexico. Bugscope would offer my students an "up close" view of the adult and larval Monarch Butterfly life stages. I am most excited with the improvement to our technology at my school level with the installation of a Smart Board which will bring the microscope images even more into view for my seven year old scientists.

Miscellaneous

Where did you hear about Bugscope? Last year, I participated in a Bugscope lesson which I initially learned about by reading an article in NSTAs magazine called Science and Children.
